What Is Artficial Intelligence(AI)?

 

Artificial Intelligence (AI)


Artificial Intelligence is the branch of computer science that are programmed to think like a human and mimic their actions. Artificial Intelligence can perform multiple tasks without doing any human inference but it can also be applied to any machine that exhibits traits associated with a human mind such as learning and problem-solving. I will define artificial Intelligence in 4 to 5 words.

Are artificial intelligence and machine learning the same?

No, Machine learning is based on the idea that the machine should be able to learn and adapt through experience. Ai based on border idea where the machine can execute task smartly. Machine learning helps a computer to achieve artificial intelligence. Artificial Intelligence applies in machine learning, deep learning and many other techniques to solve actual problems.

 

TYPES OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

There are 4 types of artificial Intelligence

  • Reactive Machine
  • Limited memory
  • Theory of Mind
  • Self-Aware

 

REACTIVE MACHINE:

Reactive Machine performs basic preparation. This level of Artificial Intelligence is basic. This type of reaction to some input and some output. This is the first step to any Artificial Intelligence system. Machine learning can take a human face as input and output the box around the face to identify it as a face is simple.

 

LIMITED MEMORY:

Limited memory is the type of Artificial Intelligence (A.I) ability to store previous data and/or predictions, using this data to make better predictions with limited memory. Machine learning architecture becomes a little more complex. Every Machine Learning model requires limited memory to be created, but the model can be deployed as a reactive machine type.


THEORY OF MIND

Theory of mind is the type of A.I. These are only in the beginning phases and can be seen in things like self-driving cars. This type of Artificial Intelligence (A.I) begins to interact with the thoughts and emotions of humans.

 



SELF-AWARE

 


Finally, in some distant future, perhaps Artificial Intelligence is to become self-aware. But this kind of Artificial Intelligence exists in stories and as movies often do. A self -aware intelligence beyond the human as an independent intelligence and likely people are negotiating term with the entity is created. What happens, good or bad everyone’s guess.

 

 

ARE THERE OTHER TYPES OF AI?

 

There are other types of AI the more oriented tec-based crowd observes. They follow a similar outline but get written about with a strong foundation in what Artificial Intelligence used for, what is capable of, and how it helps advance humanity. These are another three types of A.I.


  1. Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI) / Weak AI / Narrow AI which has a narrow range of abilities;
  2. Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) / Strong AI / Deep AI which is on par with human capabilities;
  3. Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) which is more capable than a human

 

Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI) / Weak AI / Narrow AI

 

Artificial narrow intelligence (ANI) is referred to as weak or narrow Ai is the only type of artificial intelligence, we have the successful release to date. Narrow AI is a goal-oriented designed to perform a singular task - i.e., face recognition, speech recognition/ voice assistant, driving a car or searching the internet and is very intelligent at completing the specific task it is programmed as to do




 

Artificial Superintelligence (ASI)

 

Artificial supper Intelligence (ASI), is the hypothetical AI that doesn’t mimic and understand human intelligence and behaviour. AI is where machine become self-aware and surpass the capacity of human intelligence.




Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) / Strong AI / Deep AI

 

It is the concept that mimics human’s intelligence and /or behaviour, with the ability to learn and apply its intelligence to solve any problems, AGI can think, understand, and act in a way that is distinguishable from that of a human in any given situation.

 

AI researchers and scientist have not yet found strong AI to succeed, they would need to find a way to make the machine conscious programming a full set of cognitive abilities. The machine would have to take experimental learning to the next level, not just improving the efficiency of a singular task, but gaining the ability to apply experimental knowledge to a wider range of different problems.
